Melissa saved the day! We started what was supposed to be a simple window replacement project when we were surprised by major structural issues as a result of prior owners DIY and poor maintenance.
While I was over-whelmed and freaking out a bit, she calmly stepped in and started problem solving. She started with a super fast turn around on the drawing, bringing in the necessary engineers and getting major structural problems solved to creating a solution for a poorly designed space that turned it into one of our most useful, she was the best.
And then the fun began – from the most incredible paint colors to not thinking I was crazy when I said I wanted a purple velvet sofa, she helped steer me toward the perfect decisions that not only looked stunning but also took into account our lifestyle.
Never once did she lose her cool or push her likes over mine – her design esthetic helped me fine tune what I wanted.
We enjoyed working with her so much that we have secretly started a bathroom facelift.

We have been working with Melissa for about 3 years now on residential projects from small renovations to full gut with large additions and new construction including ADUs. She takes the big and the small client and puts as much attention to detail into the big job as the small. It’s not about a payday with Melissa, it truly is a craft to her. She is always furthering her skills and adding to her bucket of knowledge through industry connects and open dialogue. She is very hands on and will sit in a shipping container of kitchen cabinets to ensure every piece is installed correctly. If you want someone that can bring a project together use MKB.

Melissa was gracious enough to meet me re: my kitchen project that is in the making. I realized undoubtedly so that I needed her reassurance and her expertise on the direction that we are going.

She eloquently added reassurance , ideas, direction and detail while giving the upmost respect to the contractor who has been working on the project with me. It was imperative to her that she did not want to step on anyone’s toes (Including the cabinet maker) as she understands the time that they have already put into the project. With that being said she also had the confidence to say if I see a direction this project should have gone, I will let you know.
If anyone is looking for a designer definitely go this direction! I will be using her again for more finishing touches~ I appreciate her eye for detail and her integrity and experience!!
